Eco-Construction and Intern Designs Volunteering and Internships

African construction volunteering and internships
volunteering and internships in eco-construction

Green Works Africa offers hands-on eco-construction volunteering and internships. In this program, you’ll learn about traditional African building methods and how they’re used in modern design. For example, many families in low-income areas still use natural materials like mud, hay, leaves, stones, and bamboo because they’re affordable and eco-friendly.

We use these materials creatively, such as mud-plastered walls, roofs covered in makuti, and bamboo lampshades. This mix of traditional techniques and modern needs brings African culture into everyday spaces.

By joining us, you’ll use your studies and skills in real projects within developing communities. You’ll work 6-8 hours each day from Monday to Friday. Programs last 2 weeks to 12 months, with internships usually lasting 2-3 months. Start dates are flexible, so you can begin whenever it fits your schedule.

Experienced team leaders will guide and support you each day. They’ll help you follow a weekly plan, ensuring you complete your tasks and make a real impact.

Our programs run year-round, so students are welcome at any time. We match your placement to your skills and interests, allowing you to contribute meaningfully to the local community. In the mornings, you’ll do fieldwork in schools and community spaces. Afternoons are for planning, reporting, and social media tasks.

You and your friends can also enjoy affordable tours and safaris focusing on sustainability.
